Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to give its popular compact crossover, the Fronx, a facelift next year, and a major highlight will be the addition of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). This feature, already available in the export version of the Fronx along with all-wheel drive (AWD), is set to enhance safety and technology offerings for the Indian market. Recently, Maruti exported 1,600 units of the India-made Fronx to Suzuki’s home market in Japan, showcasing its commitment to advanced features.

The decision to equip the Fronx facelift with ADAS reflects the growing demand from younger car buyers who prioritize safety and cutting-edge technology. Following the Fronx, other models in the Maruti lineup, including the Grand Vitara Facelift, Swift, and Baleno, are also expected to adopt ADAS technology. Over time, ADAS could become a standard feature across most Maruti Suzuki vehicles, similar to how ABS and airbags are currently standard.

Not Just ADAS: Series Hybrid Technology is Also on the Way

In addition to ADAS, the Fronx facelift will introduce Series Hybrid technology, marking a significant step for Maruti Suzuki. This innovative technology is set to roll out across Maruti’s range of affordable hatchbacks. The Series Hybrid system is expected to debut in the Fronx and later be implemented in other models like the newly launched 4th generation Swift and the popular Baleno.

What is Series Hybrid Technology?

Series Hybrid technology utilizes a small displacement internal combustion engine, typically a three-cylinder petrol unit, to function as a generator. This engine charges the onboard battery pack, which in turn powers an electric motor that drives the car's wheels. This setup offers improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions, appealing to eco-conscious consumers looking for economical and environmentally friendly driving solutions.
